I ordered these and the new Bushnell 10x42 Legend Ultra HD Binoculars Rain Guard, ED Glass, to do a side by side comparison. I found both to be good but I picked the Zen-Ray because I felt it was more comfortable in my hands, the view was a bit sharper, clearer and the view was lighter. So far, I love them. i have used them on the pistol range and can clearly see the wholes on a small target @ 75 yds made with a .22 LR.

I've had a few pair of binoculars in the past, but nothing I've spent a great deal of money on. I was looking for a pair of binos under a budget of $500 that would have great quality. A few of my coworkers had these and I was able to try them out, and was amazed at the clarity and quality of the item, and for a price less then half of what I what I was willing to spend. I used these on a recent deer hunt in the Mojave desert. Heat waves and other distortions were minimal, it was very relaxing to look through these glasses for hours. Very sharp, best optics I can recall owning.

On the down side the the rubber cover on the right side twist up cup came unglued in the first hour of use and the lens covers fell off and were lost that same day. Seems like the important optics are handled well while the packaging is an after thought. (Posted on 8/31/11)

I got the Summit ZRS 10x42 a few days ago. I am very happy with this pair. Now, if you spend hours and hours every day peering through binoculars as part of your job, as a birder, or just because your are plain crazy and you like to do that, I am not saying these are the best you can get. I don't know, but I don't see any reason to pay a couple of thousand dollars for something that's perhaps 10-20% better quality. For my use, as an occasional traveler and bird-watcher, I am happy with these. The only reason I did not give them a rating of five for quality is because I think nothing is perfect and there is always room for improvement.
The only con I have is that the rubber covering the eyecups comes off easily and the focus knob is a little too sensitive so if you just touch it unintentionally it moves and you have to refocus. I can certainly live with that though if the alternative is to pay four to ten times the price.
I found out about Zen Ray by reading reviews of other binoculars on Amazon.com and two reviewers mentioned these with praise. I am glad I read those reviews and bought the Zen Ray. (Posted on 8/1/11)

I ordered these the ZRS 10x42 for an upcoming Montana hunt and to use for 3D archery. These Bino’s are compact, which makes for an easy day to carry them on the range. I was blown away with the clarity of these bino’s compared to other well known brands that I have used in the past. I ended up spending more time showing them to other people I shot with to show how great they are. Before the end of the first 3D shoot I took them on everyone in my group was using them to look at the targets. I am highly impressed with the clarity and the craftsmanship of the Zen-Ray bino’s. This will be the only brand I will carry from now on. For the money you can’t get a better set of glasses.

I first realized the fantastic value of my Summits while on an NM mule deer hunt last year. My hunting partner and I were sitting side by side glassing. I spotted two bucks a long ways off and my buddy could not find them through his glass. I gave him my summits and he instantly found them. After that hunt he got wise and purchased a pair himself. Thanks Zen Ray for a great set of optics. I'm a Zen Ray fan and will be looking to purchase the ED2's and give the summits to my boys when they are ready to hunt themselves. (Posted on 6/9/11)

I have just received my binoculars. I ordered it to use on a planne dtrip to ALaska. I also own a set of Nikon binocs. This particular set appears to be very good. I compared it to another well known brand (Olympus) and the difference was very noticeable in favour of ZRS HD Summit. I hope to be able to provide a better review after my trip to Alaska. I just received my ZRS HD 10x42 Waterproof Binoculars. I bought them for an Alaskan Cruise upcoming this summer. The clarity and light gathering is awesome. There is almost a sense of 3D. I was concerned they may be large and heavy, but am pleased that they are neither. I may have to buy another pair for my wife!

I purchased a pair of 10x42 ZRS HD last August before hunting season and I've been extremely impressed with the overall quality and glass. I looked through quite a few different optics before purchasing these but nothing else really came close to the clarity and brightness at this price. I got this on ebay for my wife as a Christmas gift so we can take it with us for the upcoming Alaska Cruise in August. It arrived in two days after we placed our order. The optics is great (well, I am not expert in this field).. She has been taking this pair of binoculars to several places so far, even to one of the basketball games. I used it for 2 hours straight while watching our backyard birds and didn't feel strain on my eyes at all.. The weight is just right, not too heavy to get you tired. I like to play with the twist-up eyecups, turning it up and down and feel the smooth movement. It is my first pair of binoculars and didn't realize it can be so addictive when I got a good one.
